No Admission Test for International Student
International students who apply for medical schools in the UK need to provide UCAT or BMAT scores. However, in Ireland, International students are exempted from taking the Medical Admission Test (HPAT). Instead, International students will go through an interview process.
Well-recognised Qualification
After graduation, students must complete a year of internship to gain full registration with the Medical Council of Ireland. Graduates are eligible to practice as a doctor not only in Ireland and UK, but also the regions including in Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong and more. They have to pass the country-specific licensure exam.
There are 6 Higher Education Institutions in Ireland offering Medicine courses namely:
- Trinity College Dublin (TCD)
- University College Dublin (UCD)
- University College Cork (UCC)
- University of Galway (UG)
- University of Limerick – Postgraduate Entry (UL)
- Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI)
Application Timeline:
Application for the Medicine programme in Ireland open from late November to December and closes in February. The exact date will be announced in October/November each year. Applicants are recommended to make an appointment with us for consultation before December.
